Album of the Week: Limon&Leme /Uncool Paul

Uncool Paul said to Teenfreaks:

“I have a brain that is fed almost entirely on cheese and 1980s pop music. If Nik Kershaw or The Human League can do it, then I can too, but with a slice of smoked cheddar and dirty ginger hair walloped on top.”

“I am a a multi-instrumentalist and my favourite key signature is D major (Or B minor if I’m feeling 👐dramatic).”

“My latest musical venture Limon & Leme was written at a time of global social unrest. You’d think this would reflect in the songs on the album but, probably because of the volume of tea I’ve been drinking recently, I was mostly oblivious to these goings-on. What you will find are thoughts about how I was conceived in the back of a Ford Cortina; feeling awkward at parties; calculators and magical TV remotes that can reset existence”

Q&A with: Freedivers

Freedivers is a alternative Rock/Grunge trio from Barcelona.

Sergi Blanch (vocals & guitar), Rafa d Villegas (bass) and Xavi Blanch at the Drums.

The band is formed by:

Sergi Blanch (vocals & guitar), Rafa d Villegas (bass) and Xavi Blanch at the Drums.

The Band is currently working on new material and it will be released by the end of December.

I managed to have a chat with Rafa and asked three questions:

1- What Music means to you and which message you want to give to your listeners?

-For us, music is a tool, a medium that allows us to connect with people. In our songs we tell daily and personal stories trying to convey what is happening with our society ,and we do in sincere way so that the message is received

2- Name 3 bands that influenced your music and why they influenced you?

-As a band we have influences from the Seattle sound of the 90s, from bands like Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden etc, but each of us has their own influences. In my case I am personally very influenced by Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Pixies. It is the music that I have been listening to forever.

3- What are your plans for the future?

-We really don’t have high ambitions. Keep making music, having fun making it, and connect with people who want to listen to us.

It was a pleasure to work with Jason on the Spaced Out In Wonderland album. His mixes genuinely captured the psychedelic essence of Cambodian Space Project. We look forward to working with him again soon.

Send us your favourite live sessions:

1.Hundred Thousands. NYC. U.S.A

Hundreds Thousands is the solo project of Zach Britt. Growing up in the Piedmont and mountain regions of North Carolina, Britt’s musical background stems from the rich textures of folk music and bluegrass, which has since been heavily influenced by the broad landscape of electronic music… Exploring the lines between pop & electronic, analog and digital, H|T combines a folk music/singer-songwriter upbringing with crunchy bass synths and drum machine/sample based percussion.

2.Kampot Playboys. Kampot. Cambodia

Kampot Playboys were formed in 2011 by Uk Sochiet and Mark Chattaway in their hometown of Kampot, Cambodia. The current line- up have been performing together since 2015.
Kampot Playboys play a mixture of Cambodian songs from the past as well as original songs.

3.The la belle et la bête’s. Danang.Vietnam
